2 โ Arianne Hartono
At 194th in the WTA rankings, 27-year-old Arianne Hartono is ranked second in the "Top 15 Female Tennis Players from the Netherlands 2023" list. She also reached the main draw in 2023, but even then, the first round proved to be her last stop. Hartono has won three ITF singles titles so far (the last in June 2023 in Setรบbal, Portugal) and fifteen ITF doubles titles.
3 โ Lesley Pattinama Kerkhove
Like Rus, Lesley Pattinama Kerkhove, at 31, can be considered an experienced woman in this list. Pattinama Kerkhove was ranked in the world's top 200 for six years, but currently sits at 202nd . Together with Belarusian Lidzija Marozava, she won the 2017 WTA tournament in Luxembourg in women's doubles. During that tournament, Lamens lost only one set and defeated Switzerland's Yiena In-Albon in the final. Lamens is currently ranked 270th in the WTA rankings.
5 โ Eva Vedder
Eva Vedder also competes primarily on the ITF circuit, and the 23-year-old already has a number of titles to her name. In 2019, Vedder twice won a tournament in Tabarka, Tunisia, and her most recent ITF title came in April 2022 in Santa Margherita di Pula, Portugal. Vedder also reached a WTA doubles final with her partner Andrea Gรกmiz. However, Elisabetta Cocciaretto and Olga Danilovic proved just a bit too strong for the Dutch/Venezuelan duo.
6 โ Jasmine Suzanne Gimbrรจre
At number six on the list of "best female tennis players from the Netherlands in 2023" is Jasmijn Suzanne Gimbrรจre. Gimbrรจre is 22 and has already reached the world 500. Lexie Stevens (24) won an individual ITF title in Oran, Algeria, without dropping a set in 2022, but she also has a longer list of doubles honors than her singles. In the past three years, she has won a total of nine ITF doubles titles and is already on track for another title in 2023. She teamed with Maria Fernanda Herazo Gonzalez of Colombia to win the tournament in Tucuman, Argentina.
8 โ Anouk Koevermans
While 19-year-old Anouk Koevermans hasn't yet won an ITF singles title, she has already achieved success in doubles. Together with her compatriot Marente Sijbesma, Koevermans secured the overall victory in Monastir, Tunisia. What's even more impressive is that they did so without dropping a set. Koevermans is currently ranked 705th in the WTA rankings in singles, and it's clear that there's more to come for this talented tennis player.
9 โ Joy de Zeeuw
At seventeen, Joy de Zeeuw is the youngest of the ten best female tennis players from the Netherlands in 2023. The talent from Vlaardingen recently won her first international tournament in Emmeloord and trains with Raymond Knaap and Roel Oostdamen. Due to her age, she currently plays mainly youth tournaments, but De Zeeuw's ultimate goal is to play Grand Slam tournaments, particularly Wimbledon. Who knows what we'll see from this talented player in the future!
10 โ Stephanie Visscher
At 23, Stephanie Visscher can already boast two ITF titles. Both of these victories came in 2022. The first was on the Belgian clay court in Wanfercee-Baulet, where she defeated Amelie van Impe in the final in August, and the second on the hard court in El Sheikh, Egypt.
